Good morning all
The fishing this weekend was for the most part really good at the Coronado islands
With a mix of sculpin calico bass and barracuda and some rock fish. The water color has improved greatly which in turn has sparked the surface fish to bite. We think it’s a matter of days before the yellow tail start to turn on as well. There were a couple of white sea bass caught this weekend one was 44 pounds, it was caught on Saturday and then on Sunday another one came in at 40+ pounds we didn’t gat any of them but they are around

For 6/27/09-6/28/09
On 6/27/09 it was a little tough we got out with 50 anglers and we fished a number of spots with a little b caught here and a little caught there. We wound up with
12 calico bass 190 sculpin and 1 san bass 28 rock fish the day over all was pretty good just not very much surface action
On 6/28/09 we fished the same areas and the water had improved so much, by that I mean it was cleaner and warmer we got out with 29 anglers and the combined for
95 calico bass and 75 barracuda
On Sunday we started in on the beach looking for bird schools which turned out to be a very good thing. The water looked a whole lot better then it did the day before, guess what the surface action began. We posted four days ago about the water being a big factor in the surface action, and it’s the truth. We picked at the barracuda for about 2 ½
And wound up with 25 for our morning then went over to the island for something different, we got there and the place where I set up for calico bass Saturday look so much better and we had excellent fishing there. When we got our fill of the bass we went back in on the beach and looked around for yellow tail or White Sea bass but found stupid barracuda fishing. By that I mean very very good fishing we think we hooked in to a White Sea bass but could not land it…..

I would have posted Saturday and Sunday but I was running the boat hope all the anglers that were with us this week end had a great time
I would like to send a shout to the Vegas boys for coming out on Sunday it was nice to see you all again. And pops hope you get better
